REC Change to align with CP1633 Capture Modem Module Details Under BSCP601
BSC CP1633 “Capture Modem Module Details Under BSCP601” makes amendments to BSCP601 Metering Protocol Approval and Compliance Testing. One of the amendments places obligations on MOAs where they are introducing and amending Communications Equipment. Equivalent and potentially expanded obligations need to be placed within REC Schedule 14 Metering Operations to support this.
Without changes to REC Schedule 14 Metering Operations, the BSC solution will be incomplete.
The BSC text reads:
“g) Require the MOA, where it proposes to introduce, or amend, Communications Equipment associated with Metering Equipment and/or Asset Metering Equipment, to engage with all relevant Qualified HHDCs, ADSs and/or the CDCA, that support the Metering Equipment, to determine whether the Communications Equipment impacts an approved Protocol.”
A REC Issue is needed to explore when and how the MOA engages with the HHDCs, ADSs and the CDCA, and these particulars placed within REC Schedule 14.
There have also been discussions under the BSC about impacts to the D0268 Advanced Meter Details Market Message, of which all 10 of 14 Scenarios Variants are owned by the REC. This will need to be discussed further, and any changes to the D0268 will be incorporated under the REC half of the solution (unless limited to the SVs owned by the BSC).
