Shared Sites in Electricity Enquiry Service (EES)
Summary
There is a concern regarding shared sites (as defined by BSCP550) that have multiple suppliers linked to them. The investigation revealed a lack of visibility of these sites, and it appears that the industry is similarly uninformed. Elexon, the REC, and the wider industry do not have a consistent way of identifying these shared sites. Therefore, there is a good chance that agents are holding shared sites within their portfolio without knowing it. We would like to explore whether the EES Online Portal has any flags or mechanisms that could help identify these shared sites.

Shared Sites in Electricity Enquiry Service (EES)
There is a concern regarding shared sites (as defined by BSCP550) that have multiple suppliers linked to them. The investigation revealed a lack of visibility of these sites, and it appears that the industry is similarly uninformed. Elexon, the REC, and the wider industry do not have a consistent way of identifying these shared sites. Therefore, there is a good chance that agents are holding shared sites within their portfolio without knowing it. We would like to explore whether the EES Online Portal has any flags or mechanisms that could help identify these shared sites. If not could these be added? For example, consider the following (examples removed as contain sensitive information)
If Elexon or REC cannot identify them then we cannot effectively provide assurance. If industry, mainly suppliers, do not have a clear understanding of the shared sites they hold in their portfolio then their agents, especially the DCDA, will be unaware they have been assigned to one. This could impact allocation schedules.
A flag on EES that can help everyone clearly identify the shared site, the primary MPAN and all of the pseudo MPANs attached to it.
Elexon have requested that all DCDAs check their portfolio to help identify their shared sites and only around 105-110 were identified by one DCDA. Every other DCDA that responded advised they did not have any.
