Search GES API using meter serial number
A consumer moving into new premises does not have any billing information. If the address held in GES is ambiguous or differs from that understood by the new occupier, the consumer may be unable to switch supplier. However, the consumer does have the serial number which is displayed on the meter and could be used to instigate the switching process.
New occupiers of residential or commercial properties may experience difficulties or be unable to switch suppliers.
To allow searches of GES API by meter serial number, which is enough information to enable the return of all meter-point data associated with the MPRN.
GBG Group's TPI customers are experiencing difficulties with switching consumers whose address details are ambiguous and who do not have previous billing details (MPxN) for the property. EES, the sister service to GES allows searching by MPAN. This change would more closely align the functionality of the two services
