Solution development

Problem Statement
The ETTOS Service Provider, will be decommissioning their onsite servers on 31 January 2022. Consequently, the ETTOS web portal will no longer be used to provide the ETTOS Service Data (tip-off reports) to ETTOS Recipients. Instead, reports will be sent directly to ETTOS Recipients via encrypted emails. Updates are required to the REC to reflect the changes to the ETTOS report dissemination process.
Proposed solution summary
  1. As a Consumer, I want my Energy Supplier to receive and act upon energy theft tip-offs, to ensure the safety and security of my energy supply.
  2. As an ETTOS Recipient, I need to be aware of changes to the way I will receive and send tip-off information, so I can engage in the process and plan any required changes to my processes.
  3. As an ETTOS Recipient, I need to receive my ETTOS Service Data in a timely manner, so that I am able to act on tip-offs, to reduce risks for consumers and my business.

ETTOS Report Dissemination
Crimestoppers have upgraded their security across the business for report dissemination to all of the services they offer. This change will make ETTOS portal obsolete and encrypted emails will be sent directly to REC Parties. Wording in the REC (Schedule 5 - Theft Reduction Schedule) requires an update to reflect the changes being made to the ETTOS report dissemination process.
The process will be made simpler and removes the needs for users to log on to the ETTOS portal to download reports. The wording in the REC needs to be updated to reflect the new process
Wording in Schedule 5 Section 8.2 needs to be changed to reflect the new process. Example wording: 8.2 Each ETTOS Recipient shall: (a) provide a single point of contact (ideally a group/multiuser email address) for the ETTOS Service Provider to send the email containing the report pdf to. (b) ensure the inbox is monitored regularly so as to pick reports up in a timely manner. (c) provide reasonable support to the ETTOS Service Provider in relation to publicising the Energy Theft Tip-Off Service (provided that no ETTOS Recipient shall be obliged to incur material cost in doing so)
Crimestoppers have upgraded their security across the business for report dissemination to all of the services they offer. ETTOS is one of the last services that require the upgrade. The security upgrade now means that they have started to remove on site servers, and will be using cloud-based servers. This change will make ETTOS portal obsolete and encrypted emails will be sent directly to REC Parties.
