Access to SDES for Gas Networks
Summary
Raising on behalf of the Gas Networks, who currently struggle to find who to email queries to within suppliers organisation. Suppliers and Electricity DNO's moved to SDES to ensure all communications were in a secure portal, with SLA's and for GDPR reasons, but Gas Networks do not have access to this portal, and not considered during the implementation of the system. They also obtain photo's when out on site to help resolve queries and would like somewhere to upload them to send to suppliers.

Problem Statement
Energy Suppliers and Distribution Network Operators (DNOs) moved to SDES to ensure all communications were in a secure portal, with SLAs and for GDPR reasons. Gas Transporters do not have access to this portal, and were not considered during the implementation of the system. As such, communications are not being sent as securely as possible.

Access to SDES for Gas Networks
Raising on behalf of the Gas Networks, who currently struggle to find who to email queries to within suppliers organisation. Suppliers and Electricity DNO's moved to SDES to ensure all communications were in a secure portal, with SLA's and for GDPR reasons, but Gas Networks do not have access to this portal, and not considered during the implementation of the system. They also obtain photo's when out on site to help resolve queries and would like somewhere to upload them to send to suppliers.
They are struggling to find the correct email addresses as there is no central store of contacts, they struggle to get responses back to the queries they raise.
Gas Networks would like access to SDES to raise queries and pass on information to suppliers, the same as the Electricity Networks, types of queries would be Shipperless/Supplierless, Unregistered sites, Invalid Withdrawal, Gas Network General Queries
It was raised by the Gas Networks at the Shipperless/Supplierless Forum, with regards to how they struggle to get engagement from suppliers, and knowing who to contact. I mentioned SDES which the Electricity Networks can use, which they thought would be useful. I then raised it at the RIG to see if there was any reason they hadn't previously been considered and if anyone had any concerns with me raising this change, and no issues were raised. This would then keep all query management in one place
Impacts
Gas, Domestic Credit, Microbusiness, Small and Medium Enterprise (SME), Industrial and Commercial (I&C)
Switching experience, Billing accuracy, Safety, Security of supply
These queries are usually from site visits where the Gas Networks have found a supply at a property that is not registered anywhere, or a supplier withdraw from a site incorrectly and their is still a supply. Or they have been to a property a found a potential theft as suppliers believe the meter was removed. So the customers need setting up with a supplier
