Summary
The Third-Party Service Provider Non-Switching category is a new EES User Type for organisations providing services to generators or end-users for purposes other than Switching. One such organisation is a provider of a platform for Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) installers to simplify the way in which renewable installation applications are submitted to Distribution Network Operators (DNOs). Access to MPANs will enable the installer to cross-reference with details provided by the customer to ensure accurate data it provided to the DNO for the connection of the generation system. It will also assist in identifying the correct meter point in conversion properties. The DNO application for the connection helps the customer receive an export MPAN and the confirmation of a smart meter and who the Supplier is supports a smooth customer journey in setting up export tariffs.
