Summary
The Meter Manufacturers Make and Type (J0410 / DI-048) was not populated as part of the MHHS Programme's data cleanse. However it is part of the SMRS maintained Meter Technical Details (MTDs) for Smart Meters which replace the DTC MTD Market Messages for Smart Meters in the MHHS environment. It is not currently possible to populate this item in the legacy arrangements.

Problem Statement
Following MHHS Migration, the MTDs provided by SMRS do not include the Meter Manufacturers Make and Type, as this replaces the existing D0149/D0150 Market Messages it could lead to the information being lost. This will mean Energy Suppliers and MOAs will not know the make and type of meter installed at a particular Site.

Meter Manufacturers Make and Type not Populated in SMRS
The Meter Manufacturers Make and Type (J0410 / DI-048) was not populated as part of the MHHS Programme's data cleanse. However it is part of the SMRS maintained Meter Technical Details (MTDs) for Smart Meters which replace the DTC MTD Market Messages for Smart Meters in the MHHS environment.
It is not currently possible to populate this item in the legacy arrangements.
Following a migration the MTDs provided by SMRS do not include the Meter Manufacturers Make and Type, as this replaces the existing D0149/D0150 Market Messages this could lead to the information being lost. This will mean Suppliers and MOAs will not know the make and type of meter installed at a particular site.
Two options have been considered
- A new data population exercise (possibly involving DTS data) to populate the item in both SMRS and EES.
- A post migration process for MOAs to populate the item using the IF-005 'MTD updates to SMRS'
- Ammendment to the D0312 'Notification of Meter Information to MPAS' to allow the Meter Manufactuers Make and Type to be populated via this means in legacy arrangements.

Market Message Catalogue
Possible update to the D0312 to allow the Meter Manufacturers Make and Type to be maintained in legacy.
EES API Technical Specification
Possible update to the API Technical Specification to allow the Meter Manufacturers Make and Type to be published in legacy arrangements.
No details provided
Potential for bulk update into EES.
Data Services, Distribution Network Operators, Energy Suppliers, Meter Operator Agent
Any bulk update would involve DNOs in their role as SMRAs, EES and potentially Electralink as the DTS provider. SMRAs and EES may also need to be able to maintain the Meter Manufacturers Make and Type in legacy arrangements.
It is possible that MOAs would require to implement processes to populate the item post migration or maintain in legacy.

Suppliers, MOAs, Data Services and DNOs will be impacted if the Meter Manufacturers Make and Type is not available for Smart meters migrated to MHHS arrangements.
Balancing and Settlement Code (BSC)
SMRS is a BSC managed service. Any change to SMRS functionality or involvement in a data population exercise will need to be managed via the BSC.

Priority & timing

No
The MHHS migration process is live meaning that the longer taken to implement a solution the more data will be lost.
