Erroneous Switch Review: Assurance Reporting Update
Summary
There is gap in the Erroneous Switch (ES) Performance Assurance reporting as the DTN does not provide MPXN level data up front. It requires individual ES permission before MPXNs are provided. However, CSS reporting does provide monthly MPXN level report. As such end-to-end monitoring of the ES process cannot be carried out at a MPXN level.

Erroneous Switch Review: Assurance Reporting Update
There is inconsistency in the granularity of the data provided for Erroneous Switch (ES) Performance Assurance reporting between the Data Transfer Network (DTN) (aggregate) and the Central Switching System (CSS) (MPXN). The DTN does not provide MPXN-level data up front as it requires individual Energy Supplier permission for each MPXN before MPXN-level data is provided. CSS reporting does provide monthly MPXN-level reports. As such, end-to-end monitoring of the ES process cannot be carried out at a MPXN level.
• Risk of incorrect reporting / assurance as there is no end-to-end reporting.
• Known risk of incorrect use of the Erroneous Switch Flag as volumes do not match those of agreed RETs and D0301s
• Additional time and resources for Energy Suppliers, the Code Manager and ElectraLink before the MPXN level data is provided

Updated Performance Assurance Reporting Catalogue (PARC) to mandate MPXN level data for all ES reporting.
Potential to provide back dated MPXN level data.
Housekeeping changes to the PARC to remove redundant flows from the ES reporting requirements.

The I0237 Erroneous Switch Review highlighted this as a “quick win” from the working group. This can be progressed while I0237 continues and alongside R0313 and R0322.
